O Lord, why do we hold tight to the differences that separate us
like a toddler clinging
to its favorite blanket
In our heads we know what's right
but in our hearts, we'd rather fight

O Lord, draw us closer each day
to Your loving Spirit
until the differences no longer matter....
until they melt away like the frost
on a summer morning
and our hearts are one with Yours.
