Yesterday at seven a.m.,
the bells tolled at St. Thomas More
as Mass was about to begin

A lady in a tan coat with snow white hair Sat two rows in front of me

She turned to a parishioner next to her
and whispered,
"Today is my ninetieth birthday"

Today, a woman and her four year old
son arrived late
For the eight-thirty service

She knelt and placed a baby carrier in
The aisleas her infant daughter slept
Soundly through the sermon

How great is our Father who creates and cradles the newborn....
Who savors and sustains the aged
How great indeed!

*** Forty-seven year old
Thomas Finnegan also slept through
The sermon and we pray that God
Will bless and forgive him.
