Medical Poetry

There's a special gift you give
To the patients you do see
And the Angels far and wide
Know this gift instilled in thee

It's a gift that lends to soothe
Repressed pain within a heart
And within a confused mind
There's a healing you impart

To relieve the fearful hearts
That are captive to their mind
You portray a well known skill
That does free these souls entwined

To the anxious heart you are
A great blessing in disguise
For the peace they do achieve
Is to them a Nobel Prize

To the hearts that are depressed
There's a gift they gain inside
When their darkness turns to day
Hope replaces suicide

But your greatest work is known
By those hearts so filled with rage
In this case you intervene
With great patience, and engage

To acknowledge your known work
There's an honored place above
That the Angels have prepared
As a tribute to your love

It's a palace made of gold
A reflection of your skill
That's been tenderly designed
As a token of good will

And upon each palace wall
A magnificent engrave
"A Psychiatrist is Gold

     To The Many Hearts They Save.”
