|
Job Role: The main focus of this job role is to provide
nursing care and treatments to many different patients with various types of
cancer.
Oncology nurses work in many different types of work settings: acute care hospitals, ambulatory care clinics, private oncologists' offices, radiation therapy facilities, home healthcare and community agencies.
Nursing Skills: Work with vascular access devices,
venipuncture, intravenous cannulation, chemotherapy management and pain
management, educate patients and families on the cancer process and treatment
procedures.

Job Qualifications |
|
Oncology nurses must be registered nurses (RNs) who hold either an ASN Degree
(Associates in Nursing), a BSN (Bachelor Degree in Nursing) or a Diploma in
Nursing (3 Year School) and have certain amount of on the job experience working
with cancer patients and cancer treatment modalities. |
