Nursing Graduation Poem

On this graduation day
There's a special song that's played
High above this earthly sky
By a choir dressed in jade

When you listen with intent
In the distance you will hear
Melodies that are so sweet
As the prancing of a deer

If your heart you open wide
There's a tune sung of content
That the Angels have prepared
For this special day's event

And this song was made for you
As a graduation prayer
To express Angelic thoughts
For this road that you have faired

It's a road laced with hard work
To accomplish this day's goal
Yet the sacrifice you've made
Now brings comfort to your soul

But a greater purpose lies
In this choosing of careers
It's a purpose in God's heart
One he cherishes as dear

It's a purpose with a song
For the people of this earth
To recover from their wounds
In this role you've chose as Nurse

In God's love for this great world
In his heart he played this tune
And it comes to speak of life
On this glorious afternoon

As you graduate this day
God above looks down with love
And perhaps he'll shed a tear
As this tune is played above

For your life he has conceived
With a touch of tender care
And he plays this tune each year

          As a Graduation Prayer."
